Schmidt congratulates Žbanić: The film gave a face to the victims of the Srebrenica genocide

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - On the occasion of the great success of the film "Quo vadis, Aida" and director Jasmila Žbanić, and the triple award at the 34th European Film Awards, the High Representative in Bosnia and Herzegovina Christian Schmidt also sent congratulations. After taking office, he often mentioned this film, which he watched before arriving in BiH.

"Congratulations to Jasmila Žbanić, whose film not only depicted the events but also gave a face to the victims of the Srebrenica genocide. This film also poses a crucial question: Quo vadis citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina? What future awaits young people in all parts of this country? This should be the primary concern of politicians, not reckless talk," reads the OHR Twitter account.

In addition to Schmidt, the US Embassy in Sarajevo and the British Ambassador to BiH Matt Field, as well as numerous other politicians, officials, artists, and athletes, also reacted and sent congratulations.

Jasmila Žbanić won the title of best director in Europe, Jasna Đuričić best actress, and "Quo vadis, Aida" was declared the best European film.
