(Patria) - Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman called on all states during an emergency BRICS summit on Tuesday to halt arms exports to Israel, Al-Arabiya reported.
South Africa hosted a virtual meeting of BRICS (a group of major emerging economies including Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa) on the Israel-Hamas conflict.
Riyadh was invited to join BRICS earlier this year.
Saudi Arabia demands the start of a serious and comprehensive peace process to establish a Palestinian state with the 1967 borders, bin Salman said.
"The Kingdom's position is constant and firm: there is no way to achieve security and stability in Palestine except through the implementation of international decisions related to the two-state solution."
He reiterated that the Kingdom rejected Israeli military operations in the Gaza Strip and demanded their immediate cessation. He said that the "brutal crimes" taking place in Gaza require collective efforts to end them.
MBS reiterated Saudi Arabia's rejection of the forced displacement of Palestinians from the Gaza Strip and called for collective efforts to stop the deterioration of humanitarian conditions in the enclave.
Riyadh has been making efforts since the start of the war on October 7 to protect civilians in the Gaza Strip, he added.
