(Patria) - The Ministry of Defense of Saudi Arabia announced on Sunday that three drones were intercepted and destroyed after entering the Kingdom's airspace earlier that day from Iraq, Al Arabiya reported.
Spokesperson for the Ministry of Defense, Major General Turki al-Maliki, said that Saudi Arabia "reserves the right to respond at the appropriate time and place" and will take "all necessary operational measures" against any attempt to violate the sovereignty, security, or safety of the Kingdom's citizens and residents.
Last month, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Saudi Arabia summoned the Iraqi ambassador in Riyadh for talks over what it described as continuous attacks and threats directed at the Kingdom and other Gulf states using drones launched from Iraqi territory.
