(Patria) - May 9th is also celebrated as Europe Day. Johann Sattler, Head of the European Union Delegation and EU Special Representative in BiH, spoke about BiH's European path for "Novi dan".
Speaking about May 9th and the Victory Day that Moscow celebrated today with a parade, he also commented on the country's aggression against Ukraine.
“I think this is precisely contrary to European values, the opposite of what we have been building for 70-80 years. The stronger you are, the greater power you are, the more you think you can impose your will on your neighbors, as happened from February 24th onwards. We are talking about a nuclear power that invaded a peaceful neighbor. It is not an attack on one country, but an attack on a way of life and peaceful coexistence“, said Sattler.
He also spoke about the CEC's calling of elections and that it is very important for them to be held.
“It is very clear in every democracy, elections are key. An opportunity for citizens to express their views on leaders. I welcome the CEC's step in calling the elections. The second step is securing financial resources, and it is not a question of whether someone will secure them or not, it is a legal obligation”.
"Securing funds for elections is not a matter of whether someone wants to or not, but it is a legal obligation," commented the head of the EU Delegation to N1.
Regarding expectations after the elections and whether he believes in a bright future for BiH, he said:
“To be honest, I don't think it's a question of what I expect, but what the citizens expect. Last night, I mentioned at a concert at the Historical Museum of BiH on Europe Day, and I spoke with young people, musicians, and they are part of our global community, and they physically want to be part of it and want real change”, concluded Sattler.
