Šatorović: The schedule for Aluminij's shutdown was known, what is the purpose of a belated reaction

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - The president of the Union of Independent Trade Unions of BiH, Selvedin Šatorović, stated that the special police in Mostar who removed Aluminij workers from the street while they were protesting the collapse of the company best illustrates that the institutions of Bosnia and Herzegovina are functioning, but, Šatorović said, the state uses its mechanisms against citizens to protect political elites.

“The Aluminij case confirmed that the authorities do not offer solutions to accumulated problems. Political positions are still more important than human destinies in BiH,” Šatorović told the Patria news agency.

He recalled that problems at Aluminij had been discussed for years, but no one took any action to resolve them.

“The exact schedule for Aluminij’s shutdown was known, and no one reacted,” said Šatorović. The latest announcements from HDZ that they are trying to save the company are just an attempt to find justification before the citizens, according to the president of the Union of Independent Trade Unions of BiH.
