Meeting at the Prosecutor's Office: War crimes must not go unpunished

(Patria) - The Deputy Chief Prosecutor and Head of the Special Department for War Crimes of the Prosecutor's Office of BiH, Ivan Matešić, along with prosecutors from the said department, in the past few days, held meetings with representatives of victims' associations from the areas of Hadžići, Zenica-Doboj Canton, Rudo, Mostar, Foča, Podrinje, Vitez, Bugojno, Vareš, Fojnica, Kiseljak, Orašje, and Žepče.

The meetings discussed the work on war crimes cases, the process of searching for missing persons, as well as other current issues related to the prosecution of war crimes cases. During the visit, representatives of the associations had the opportunity to ask questions about the cases that interest them within the scope of the Prosecutor's Office of BiH's work.

Joint cooperation is key to ensuring that committed war crimes do not go unpunished, that suspected perpetrators are brought to justice regardless of their location, and that witnesses and victims receive the necessary assistance and support in proceedings before the judicial institutions of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The Prosecutor's Office of BiH maintains regular contact and cooperation with war crimes victims' associations from all parts of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
