Arab Leaders Meet to Counter Trump's Gaza Plan

(Patria) - Arab leaders are gathering in Saudi Arabia today to develop a recovery plan for Gaza aimed at countering President Donald Trump's proposal for American control of the territory and the expulsion of its population.

Trump has sparked global outrage when he proposed that the United States "take over the Gaza Strip" and relocate its 2.4 million people to neighboring Egypt and Jordan.

A source close to the Saudi government told AFP that Arab leaders will discuss a "reconstruction plan to counter Trump's plan for Gaza".

The Gaza Strip is in ruins after more than a year of war between Israel and Hamas, and the United Nations recently estimated that reconstruction would cost more than $53 billion.
