Sarajevo resident robs SIPA officer's apartment, takes his service pistol, steals car, then arrested!

On January 13, 2016, at 00:50 hours, in Bosanska Street in Maglaj, a police patrol from the Maglaj Police Station stopped and checked two passenger motor vehicles, a „VW-Golf 2“ with license plates E09-K-472, and a „VW-Golf 3“ with license plates A57-T-918. During the check, police officers found a pistol of the brand „Glock“ on the person driving the vehicle „VW-Golf 2“, who identified themselves as V.D., an employee of the Agency for Investigation and Protection of BiH (SIPA), for which they possessed a permit to carry a weapon outside of service in that name, reports the Bosnian news agency Patria.

- Checks revealed that the said person had falsely identified themselves, and that it was actually H.E., born in 1983, from Sarajevo. Further checks established that during the night of January 12/13, 2016, in the municipality of Novi Grad Sarajevo, a burglary was committed by breaking into an apartment owned by the aforementioned SIPA officer, during which a large quantity of various items were stolen from the apartment, including a service pistol with the necessary documentation.

It was also established that during the night, in the same municipality, a vehicle „VW-Golf 2“, owned by H.E. from Sarajevo, was stolen. During a visual inspection of the vehicle, police officers noticed other items suspected to have been stolen from the said apartment.

Checks on the second vehicle „VW-Golf 3“, driven by B.N., born in 1987, from Ilijaš, established that it was owned by H.A. from Ilijaš, and that during the night, the theft of this vehicle was reported in the Ilijaš area.

Due to suspicion of having committed criminal offenses, H.E. and B.N. were deprived of their liberty by police officers and brought to the official premises of the Maglaj Police Station, where a criminal investigation was initiated against them. An on-site investigation was conducted, and activities were undertaken to obtain the necessary warrant from the Municipal Court in Zavidovići to search the said vehicles.

After the searches and documentation of the criminal offenses, the said persons will be handed over, together with a report on the committed criminal offenses and the identification of the perpetrators, to the competent Cantonal Prosecutor's Office of ZDK for further proceedings.
