Sarajevski kiseljak could lose concession in BiH: Extracting larger quantities of water than those they pay for

Sarajevski kiseljak d.d. is extracting larger quantities of water than stipulated by the Contract, but it also does not possess a water management permit for the extraction of that water, states the Report on the work of the Concession Commission of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina for 2014, writes the Bosnian news agency Patria.

The Report states that Sarajevski kiseljak d.d. Kiseljak is one of the concessionaires in the Federation of BiH that did not want to accept the suggestion and proposal to amend the concession contract, which was ordered by the former Federal Government, and continued to use larger quantities of water than those it pays for under the concession contract.

The entire case ended up in court last year. Sarajevski kiseljak filed a lawsuit against the Government, initiating proceedings in which it attempted to annul the new Government proposal on the concession, but the Cantonal Court in Sarajevo dismissed the lawsuit of Sarajevski kiseljak.

The Concession Commission of the FBiH subsequently proposed to the Federal Ministry of Agriculture, Water Management and Forestry to terminate the concession contract with Sarajevski kiseljak, but the then Federal Minister of Agriculture, Jerko Ivanković Lijanović, never implemented the proposal.

Sarajevski kiseljak is the producer of the best-selling mineral water on the market of Bosnia and Herzegovina, which was taken over in 2000 by the Croatian company Agrokor, owned by Ivica Todorić, writes Patria.
