Sarajevo police arrest 42-year-old, over 500 grams of drugs found in search

(Patria) - Police officers from the Department for Combating Drug Abuse, under the supervision of the acting prosecutor of the Cantonal Prosecutor's Office of Sarajevo Canton, carried out operational activities aimed at documenting criminal acts of unauthorized drug trafficking.

During a search of the apartment and auxiliary facilities in the Novo Sarajevo municipality used by the suspect, police officers found and seized over 500 grams of narcotic substances, in 10 packages – approximately 400 grams of a substance resembling the drug speed, over 100 grams of a substance resembling marijuana, and other items of interest to the investigation.

A 42-year-old man, J.Z. from Sarajevo, was deprived of his liberty on suspicion of having committed the criminal act of Unauthorized Production and Placing on the Market of Narcotic Drugs (Article 238, Paragraph 1 of the Criminal Code of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina). The suspect is undergoing criminal processing in the official premises of the Police Administration of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Sarajevo Canton, after which he will be handed over to the further jurisdiction of the Cantonal Prosecutor's Office of Sarajevo Canton.
