Sarajevo police arrest 22-year-old who robbed eight stores in Novo Sarajevo

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - On Wednesday around 3:00 PM, police officers of the III Police Station deprived S.A., born in 1996 in Sarajevo, where he resides, of his liberty due to reasonable suspicion that he committed multiple criminal acts of robbery.

Based on a court order, a search was conducted of the apartment he uses in Humska Street, Novo Sarajevo municipality. During the search, a pistol, an improvised knife with three blades, a “dagger”, as well as clothing used during the commission of the criminal acts were found and seized.

During the criminal investigation, police officers learned that S.A. had committed eight criminal acts of robbery in the past period in the Novo Sarajevo municipality area, specifically on 13.01.2018 at the “Konzum” store, Marka Marulića Street, on 28.12.2017 at the “Konzum” store, Marka Marulića Street, on 22.12.2017 at the “Merkator” store, Envera Šehovića Street, on 07.12.2017 at the “Merkator” store, Envera Šehovića Street, on 31.08.2017 at the “Konzum” store, Envera Šehovića Street, on 09.08.2017 at the “Konzum” store, Marka Marulića Street, on 22.07.2017 at the “Konzum” store, Marka Marulića Street, and on 10.06.2016 at the “Konzum” store, Marka Marulića Street.

The prosecutor of the Cantonal Prosecutor's Office in Sarajevo was informed, and S.A. was handed over to the Unit for Security of Facilities and Persons Deprived of Liberty of the Ministry of Interior of Sarajevo Canton. Police officers continue to work on clarifying and documenting the criminal activities of the said person.
