Sarajevo police searching for driver who hit pedestrian on Ilidža and fled

(Patria) - Sarajevo police are searching for an unknown driver who hit and seriously injured a pedestrian on Ilidža last night, then fled.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs (MUP) of Sarajevo Canton (KS) announced that the accident occurred at 18:50 in Rustempašina Street.

"A pedestrian, Č.A. from Sarajevo, was hit and knocked to the ground, sustaining severe bodily injuries, specifically a fracture of the left lower leg, while the driver of an unknown vehicle fled in an unknown direction," the statement said.

The pedestrian was transported and treated at the "Prim. dr Abdulah Nakaš" General Hospital, where they were admitted for further treatment.

"The duty prosecutor of the Cantonal Prosecutor's Office in Sarajevo was informed, and an investigation at the scene of the accident was conducted by members of the MUP KS, who continue to work on identifying and finding the perpetrator," the Sarajevo police stated.
