Given that in the past few days there have been frequent reports and questions in the media about the alleged appearance of a "new drug" in the Sarajevo Canton, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Sarajevo Canton has issued a public statement, reports the Patria News Agency.
The competent organizational units of the Police Administration of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Sarajevo Canton have no operational knowledge that any new drug has appeared in our country, nor in the Sarajevo Canton. All substances that were temporarily confiscated by police officers in the past period were submitted for expert examination to the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina in accordance with the provisions of the Law on Criminal Procedure of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, after which no new substances were found.
Also, we do not have any official data on failed resuscitations, nor data on toxicological examinations that would determine the possible cause of death due to excessive drug consumption.
Regarding the allegations about synthetic marijuana, which were discussed at the beginning of last year, after checks at the Institute for Addiction Diseases of the Sarajevo Canton, no screening tests were performed on individuals who showed signs of possible overdose, nor were appropriate toxicological examinations carried out, so the allegations about the existence of "synthetic marijuana" cannot be confirmed, the statement from the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Sarajevo Canton states.
