Sarajevo: First Solo Exhibition of the Association of Young Artists

The Association of Young Artists Sarajevo (SAMUS) is opening the exhibition "Art is She – Ars, artis, femininum" on March 8th at Art Cinema Kriterion. The exhibition will feature works by young female artists from the region in various media, reports Patria agency.

The idea of the project "Art is She" aims to provide an opportunity for young female artists to exhibit their works and present themselves to the public. As one of SAMUS's main postulates is love for every form of art, this exhibition will feature not only visual arts and photography but also other forms of art, such as poetry and film.
The exhibition will be of a humanitarian nature, so all money collected at the entrance (based on the principle of "name your own price") as well as from the sale of selected works, will be donated to an organization that cares for women's rights.

The exhibition will remain open until March 10, 2016.

SAMUS was founded on February 1, 2016, as a joint idea of Vladimir Salijević and Arman Fatić. It all started with a simple thought: "The city of Sarajevo is very rich in young artists of all profiles, but unfortunately, all that beautiful creative energy is confined within these young people, and their potential goes to waste because this city has nothing to offer."

SAMUS is an association formed out of the need to gather young creative minds who are involved in art but do not possess the resources or knowledge for the complete and quality realization of their ideas. The main goal of the association is to showcase the real potential of young people in Sarajevo through a series of activities in the segments of art and social activism.

The association has more than 50 permanent members, and several hundred collaborators, from all fields of art, from visual arts, literature, theatre, and film, to comics and dance, writes Patria.
