Sarajevo: Drugs, weapons, and ammunition found, drug production laboratory discovered

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - After a longer period of gathering information about the production and sale of narcotic drugs, on January 6, 2020, at 6:30 PM, in Put života street, municipality of Novo Sarajevo, police officers of the Department for Combating Narcotic Drug Abuse of the Criminal Police Sector, Administration of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Sarajevo Canton, controlled and searched the person A.F., born in 1987 in Sarajevo, where he resides.

"During this, the following were found and confiscated from him: four small packages with dry herbaceous material resembling the narcotic drug marijuana, one small package with material resembling the narcotic drug hashish, a 'Taurus' pistol, caliber 9 mm with a magazine and seven bullets, a mobile phone, and a certain amount of money. Based on the Order of the Municipal Court in Sarajevo, a search of the apartment and adjacent premises, which A.F. had rented in the municipality of Centar Sarajevo, was carried out. During the search, the following were found and confiscated: a digital scale of orange color with traces of unknown substance, a PVC syringe with unknown liquid in PVC packaging 'strain cambodian', three PVC bottles, a PVC bag with dry herbaceous material resembling the narcotic drug marijuana with a total gross weight of 1090 grams, a total of 155 plants of varying heights resembling the plant species cannabis sativa, 2 air filters with fans, 4 lamps with flexible hoses, a transformer with a timer, a digital thermostat, and a thermal tent," stated the MUP KS.

Also, in the mentioned apartment, the person A.M., born in 1991 in Sarajevo, where he resides, was found, who was maintaining the laboratory for the production of narcotic drugs. On the same day, between 8:50 PM and 10:12 PM, based on the Order of the Municipal Court Sarajevo, a search of the apartment and adjacent premises in the municipality of Novo Sarajevo, where A.F. has his registered residence, was carried out, and the following were found and confiscated: a 'CZ 999' pistol, caliber 9 mm with a magazine and 9 bullets, a 'CZ 83' pistol, caliber 7.65 mm with a magazine and 11 bullets, a 'Wischo' pistol, caliber 6.35 mm with a magazine and 6 bullets, as well as a box with 18 bullets caliber 9 mm.

The duty prosecutor of the Cantonal Prosecutor's Office of Sarajevo Canton was informed about the measures and actions taken, and ordered that persons A.F. and A.M. be deprived of their liberty, due to reasonable suspicion that they have committed criminal offenses under Article 238, Paragraph 1 of the Criminal Code of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina (Unauthorized Production and Trafficking of Narcotic Drugs) and Article 74 of the Law on Narcotic Drugs, Psychotropic Substances and Precursors of Sarajevo Canton. After the completion of the criminal investigation, the mentioned persons will be handed over to the Cantonal Prosecutor's Office with an official report on the committed criminal offenses.
