SARAJEVO Raids and arrests in Centar, drugs and weapons found

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - Police officers of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Sarajevo Canton, on 03/13/2023, in the afternoon hours, arrested 28-year-old S.M. and 33-year-old H.Z., both from Sarajevo, due to the existence of grounds for suspicion that they have committed criminal offenses: Unauthorized Production and Trafficking of Narcotic Drugs /Article 238, Paragraph 1 of the Criminal Code of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina/ and Illegal Possession of Weapons or Explosives /Article 371 of the Criminal Code of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina/.

On the same day, around 11:00 AM, the Operational Center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Sarajevo Canton received information that public order and peace were disturbed at the intersection of Skenderija and Skenderija čikma streets by several, likely armed, unknown persons. Upon arrival at the scene, police officers detained two male individuals in two motor vehicles. During a visual inspection, police officers noticed an open suitcase in one of the vehicles containing several PVC bags with a white powdery substance, and an unknown object wrapped in adhesive tape.

The duty prosecutor of the Cantonal Prosecutor's Office of Sarajevo Canton was informed, and both passenger motor vehicles, a Golf A7 and a Mini Cooper, were searched. In the Golf vehicle, a firearm - an automatic rifle with a magazine and 27 rounds of unknown caliber were found, as well as four PVC bags containing a white powdery substance resembling the narcotic drug speed, with a gross weight of 3,140 grams.

On the territory of the Centar municipality, in Zaima Šarca and Bolnička streets, searches of residential buildings used by the arrested individuals were also carried out.

Under the supervision of the acting prosecutor of the Cantonal Prosecutor's Office of Sarajevo Canton, police officers of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Sarajevo Canton continue the criminal investigation of S.M. and H.Z.
