Sarajevo: Police patrols at every second intersection

Due to frequent traffic accidents in the capital of BiH, Sarajevo, police and radar controls have been intensified since this morning, writes the Patria News Agency.

Almost at every second intersection, a police car and two police officers are parked, monitoring traffic. As the Patria reporter saw on the spot, police officers are stopping vehicles, as well as irresponsible pedestrians who cross the road on a red light.

Some received only a warning and a reprimand, while others were issued fines.

I somehow feel safer, let there be police. That's the only way we can bring order to this chaos – said Amra V., a Sarajevan we met at the Pofalići traffic light.
