Cooperation between the FBiH Government and EBRD is extremely successful, lending to the public and private sectors to continue

Prime Minister of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina Nermin Nikšić received a delegation from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) today at the FBiH Government headquarters in Sarajevo, led by the newly appointed Director for the Western Balkans Holger Muente, and including the Director of the financial institution's representative office in BiH Ian Brown with his associates, it was announced from the Government, reports the BiH news agency Patria. 

The meeting was also attended by the Federal Minister of Finance Ante Krajina, and the directors of public companies Autoceste FBiH Ensad Karić and Ceste FBiH Filip Vujeva.

Assessing the cooperation between the FBiH Government and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development as extremely successful so far, Prime Minister Nikšić expressed hope that it will continue on new projects in the future, in terms of lending to the public as well as the private sector.

- I am glad that your experience with the EBRD is positive and I hope that the cooperation will continue to the mutual satisfaction. I am particularly thinking of its expansion in encouraging lending to the private sector, especially small and medium-sized enterprises – said Muente. 

It was emphasized that the Public Company Autoceste Federacije BiH is the largest beneficiary of EBRD funds and that the cooperation so far has been extremely successful, resulting in the construction of new sections of the highway on Corridor Vc, which has significantly improved transport connectivity in our country. It was also highlighted that new projects are being prepared, both based on cooperation with the EBRD and on granting concessions for the construction of the most significant road project in Bosnia and Herzegovina. 

The rehabilitation and improvement of road routes in the Federation of BiH are in the focus of the plans of JP Ceste FBiH, of which, as emphasized by director Vujeva, a large part is dedicated to their repair after the catastrophic floods in May this year. Significant contacts have already been made with the EBRD in this regard. Both delegations agreed that cooperation should continue, and activities in this regard should be intensified.
