STATEMENT: Deliberate destruction of JP Elektroprivreda BiH, potential loss of 85 million KM

(Patria) - If the amendment to the Law on Electric Energy in FBiH, adopted by the House of Peoples of FBiH with amendments, is approved in the same text by the House of Representatives of FBiH, the amendments will be completely unenforceable and will not lead to a solution to the problem due to the legal ambiguities they contain, JP Elektroprivreda BiH announced.

"The implementation of the amendment to the Law with the submitted amendments will mean that JP Elektroprivreda BiH will operate at a loss of 85 million KM next year, making it impossible to fulfill the obligations from the Agreement reached with the Independent Trade Union of Mine Workers in FBiH on a 20 percent increase in the price of coal.

The implementation of the amendment to the Law with the submitted amendments would also directly jeopardize the financing of the implementation of planned investment projects, primarily the construction of new production capacities and the revitalization and modernization of existing ones, which are necessary to ensure own electricity production and supply end customers in the long term.

The amendment to the Law on Electric Energy adopted by the House of Peoples of FBiH with the submitted amendments means the deliberate destruction of JP Elektroprivreda BiH, the most significant economic entity in Bosnia and Herzegovina, whose functioning and operations are of particular importance for the sustainability of the integrity and stability of the power system, economic development, and the economic health of BiH," EP BiH stated in its announcement.
