The trend of unfounded negative attitudes and various accusations against Bosnia and Herzegovina, which neighboring countries Croatia and Serbia have "developed," has spread to Europe as well, and the Presidency of our country, apart from statements to the media, has shown neither the strength nor the will to adequately respond to attempts to dispute Bosnia and Herzegovina and endanger its existence.
Bosnia and Herzegovina was defended by friends and the media.
Although the Presidency of the state is one of the most qualified institutions to respond, accusations and provocations passed by, but there was no reaction. In addition to accusations, members of the Presidency reacted poorly to the endangerment of BiH's interests and borders.
The Pelješac Bridge is the first example of political bewilderment. To be fair, some in that Presidency publicly supported neighboring countries. Those who declaratively defend Bosnia and Herzegovina are increasingly absent from world centers of power. And this is not the case with the current composition of the Presidency; members of the previous one also lacked the strength to take steps that would prove they were elected rightfully.
Bosnia and Herzegovina does not have border agreements with Croatia and Serbia, but it has a problem with migrants, which is directly and indirectly influenced by Serbia and Croatia. An additional problem is the issue of BiH property in neighboring countries.
With Croatia, we have a problem with the bridge on Pelješac, and among the latest is the decision of the western neighbors to dispose of nuclear waste on the border with BiH, which would endanger the population as well as the Una River.
There are not few examples of those who grew up in Bosnia and Herzegovina and are now working for the interests of Croatia. If a leader of such people were to be chosen, Željana Zovko would have no competition. Besides hatred towards the member of the BiH Presidency from the Croatian people, Željko Komšić, Zovko, with frequent absurdities in Zagreb, Brussels... raised tensions in BiH. These statements are nothing more than the destruction of coexistence in BiH on the waves of fascism.
Her fascism and Ustaše ideology are not far-fetched, as shown by her latest message about a para-state convicted of a joint criminal enterprise.
"Driven by immeasurable patriotism, today we proudly mark the 26th anniversary of the founding of the Croatian Republic of Herceg-Bosna, the cornerstone of the defense and preservation of the Croatian identity of Bosnia and Herzegovina," said another of the Croatian promoters of European values, all with the symbols of the fascist para-state community.
With Serbia, we have more constant problems regarding war crimes and criminals, and the use of water resources. There are also frequent statements from Serbian officials about the appropriation of Republika Srpska and about the "first Serbian state" on this side of the Drina.
Therefore, there is a lot of work for the members of the Presidency, but they have solved little so far. On top of all that, French President Emmanuel Macron appeared, who, perhaps inadvertently, unprovoked, cried out: "Bosnia and Herzegovina is a time bomb ticking right next to Croatia. It faces the problem of returning jihadists."
Željko Komšić reacted to Macron's accusations by calling the French ambassador for a conversation. Everything else remained at that.
Just as everything in BiH remains just talk.
We sent a protest note to Croatia regarding the actions of that country's Security and Intelligence Agency towards BiH citizens. It was a lonely act, against an unlimited number of provocations.
Members of the BiH Presidency, in addition to not reacting in accordance with the powers of the institution where they receive salaries, are increasingly absent from world centers of power. Such a practice was imposed by the previous composition. When it comes to declaratively pro-Bosnian members of the BiH Presidency, former member Bakir Izetbegović introduced the practice of ignoring European and world officials.
This Presidency is not much more successful either. Kolinda Grabar Kitarović visited both east and west, worked for Croatia, and shaped a negative narrative about BiH.
Therefore, instead of harsh rhetoric for daily political purposes, members of the Presidency should start from Berlin and Paris, through Brussels, to Washington and Moscow. London should also not be bypassed.
From their statements, Serbs, Croats, and Bosniaks will not experience a more peaceful and better life. Without concrete action from the country's three-headed leader, Bosnia and Herzegovina will remain a target for the neighboring and world leaders to vent their frustrations. It doesn't matter for what reason.
