Roads under water, drivers seek alternative routes, houses flooded due to river overflow

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - Sarajevo roads are flooded this morning, and drivers are unable to pass through the water on the streets.

One of the critical points is in Mojmilo where the road and intersection are completely submerged. Some drivers are trying to drive through the water, some have attempted to pass via the sidewalk, and others have redirected to another route. Police are directing drivers, and trolleybus traffic is suspended.

The situation is better on the main Sarajevo road where traffic is slow but passable.

Due to water on the roadway and landslides, traffic has been halted on the Trnovo-Sarajevo-Foča section, with an alternative route via Igman. Traffic is also suspended on the regional road Konjic-Boračko jezero. Traffic is slow and difficult in the wider Sarajevo area (in the areas of: Bačići, Otes, and Dobroševići) due to water on the roadway. Houses in these settlements are flooded, and some parts are without electricity.

A landslide on the Jablanica-Blidinje main road has been cleared and traffic restored, but maximum caution is still recommended due to possible new landslides and slips. Due to water and mud on the roadway, traffic is difficult on certain sections of the Konjic-Jablanica-Mostar main road.

We warn drivers of locally strong wind gusts and the possibility of falling trees and broken branches on the roadway. Due to heavy rainfall, the risk of earth or rock slides onto the roadway is increased, so we call on drivers to exercise increased caution.
