Traffic on the Zenica - Žepče section opened, then blocked again

Traffic on the M-17 Zenica - Žepče section was briefly opened, and then again blocked due to protests by residents of Donja Golubinja and Željeznog Polja, reports zepce.ba, as relayed by the BH News Agency Patria.

After the section was opened to traffic, the residents argued with the police, and out of revolt because the municipal mayor Mato Zovko was not coming, they blocked the road again.

The assistant to the municipal mayor, Brigita Lovrić, and the commander of the Civil Protection of Žepče, Zoran Martinović, arrived at this section. The residents emphasized that they would not move until Zovko arrived.

The demands of the residents of this area relate to the assistance they desperately need because the recent floods have literally cut them off from the rest of the world. They requested the arrival of machinery to help them remove the consequences, clear landslides on the roads, and restore road communication to Željeznog Polja.
