Sanjin Sefić surrendered himself to Serbian police

Sanjin Sefić surrendered himself to the police in Novi Sad after learning that an international arrest warrant had been issued for him, the Patria News Agency has learned from sources within the Directorate for Coordination of Police Bodies of BiH.

The Directorate for Coordination of Police Bodies of BiH was informed last night by the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Serbia that the fugitive Sefić was in their custody, and that after surrendering himself, he was arrested and placed in extradition detention.

- Sanjin Sefić (25), who is suspected of running over two students in Sarajevo, is in the hands of the Serbian police, stated the Minister of Internal Affairs of Serbia, Nebojša Stefanović, last night.

Sefić killed Selma Agić and Edita Malkoč on Monday evening in Sarajevo while driving at a speed exceeding 100 kilometers per hour near the National Museum of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

He fled the scene of the accident and crossed into Serbia on Tuesday, October 11, in the morning hours at the Uvac border crossing, using his identity card.

We contacted the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Serbia and requested more detailed information on how Sefić "ended up in police hands", but we were told that this was information provided by Minister Stefanović and that they did not have more details at the moment.
