Salzburg on its feet: Everyone wants to help refugees from Syria, Bosnians and Herzegovinians among volunteers

Thousands of packages of food, clothing, and medicine welcomed refugees from Syria who arrived from Hungary in the Austrian city of Salzburg today, after which the exhausted people began to cry with joy and welcome, writes the BiH news agency Patria.
Refugees received new clothes and shoes, a clean sleeping mat, as well as enough food and medicine.

Bosnians and Herzegovinians, of whom there are more than 30,000 living in Salzburg, also joined the large aid collection effort. Many of them came to this beautiful Austrian city precisely as refugees after the aggression against Bosnia and Herzegovina in 1992.

There was no ticket inspection on Austrian trains today – refugees from Syria could travel for free, the police helped entire families to be accommodated safely... Simply put, says one activist from BiH for the Patria agency in Salzburg, the whole city, as well as other cities in Austria, were dedicated solely to refugees from Syria today.

Thousands of people, who fled the Middle East due to the horrors of war, set off from Hungary towards Austria and Germany, in order to find a new refuge for their families and themselves.

Hungarian authorities were not friendly towards them, writes NAP.
