Salkić: I call on RS MoI to prevent possible attacks on Bosniaks

Ramiz Salkić, Vice-President of Republika Srpska, told the Patria agency that he calls on Bosniaks and other citizens not to participate in the referendum on January 9 and to remain calm.

- I call on citizens to remain composed, we have to live together. I call on them not to participate in anti-constitutional and anti-peace activities of the RS authorities - said Salkić.

He once again stated that he calls on Bosniaks not to fall for provocations, and the RS authorities to ensure the safety of all citizens.

- What I fear are the announcements of celebrations after the referendum with extremist groups and that they might head towards Bosniak settlements. I hope that the RS Ministry of Internal Affairs will prevent possible conflicts.

Salkić said that he expects the BiH Prosecutor's Office and other competent institutions to do their job on Monday, September 26, and to sanction those who organized the unconstitutional referendum.

- I also expect High Representative Valentin Inzko to react and sanction those who stood in the way of the implementation of the Dayton Peace Agreement - said Salkić.
