Salkić: It is unacceptable for the RS Government to finance murderers and criminals from the Budget, i.e., with our money

Ramiz Salkić, Vice President of the BiH entity of RS, strongly condemned the decision of the RS Government to finance Hague indictees, including Radovan Karadžić and Ratko Mladić, with 40,000 KM from the entity's Budget during 2016. The first payment to their accounts has already been made in the amount of 1,280 KM each. On this occasion, Vice President Salkić gave a statement to the media, which reads:

- It is unacceptable for the Government of the BiH entity of RS to finance murderers and criminals from the Budget, i.e., with our money. The Budget belongs to all citizens living in the territory of this entity. Instead of the Government helping the victims of Radovan Karadžić, Ratko Mladić and other indictees for war crimes, it gives money to those who planned or committed crimes against innocent civilians. With this act, the RS Government has once again humiliated all victims of Karadžić's ideology.

Furthermore, it has shown that in a time of severe economic crisis and the departure of young people from the territory of this entity, it does not take care of the generations to come. This money could have been used to provide education for many young people or to create a job. The return to the past and the making of authorities out of persons behind genocide and war crimes is a worrying message sent to us by the RS Government. I call on the High Representative for BiH, Mr. Valentin Inzko, to react and prevent further spending of budget money on Hague indictees, - said Salkić.

He called on Prime Minister Željka Cvijanović to annul this decision and stop further payments to Hague indictees.
