War commander of the Army of RBiH, General Sakib Muhmuljin, was released from custody tonight. This was confirmed to the BiH news agency Patria by Mahmuljin's lawyer Fahrudin Ibrišimović.
Mahmuljin was held in the detention unit in Sarajevo, and he was released after the BiH Court rejected the prosecution's request for custody measures.
We remind you that Mahmuljin was arrested on the order of the BiH Prosecution, and he is charged with command responsibility for war crimes of the "El Mujahideen" detachment.
He is suspected of acting contrary to the provisions of international humanitarian law and the Geneva Conventions in his capacity as commander of the 3rd Corps of the Army of RBiH.
Mahmuljin also addressed the BiH Court today. He recalled that the case in which he is charged was also conducted in The Hague against the late Rasim Delić, that Delić was also a suspect, but that The Hague never indicted him.
