Queen Elizabeth II Buried

(Patria) - Queen Elizabeth II, who passed away on September 8 at the age of 96, was buried in the closest circle of the royal family.

Queen Elizabeth II was laid to rest next to her husband Prince Philip in King George VI Memorial Chapel at Windsor Castle, according to a statement on the official royal family website.

“The Queen has been buried together with the Duke of Edinburgh in King George VI Memorial Chapel”, the statement reads.

Millions of people in London, as well as around the world, paid tribute and bid their final farewell to Queen Elizabeth today, the longest-reigning monarch in the history of the monarchy.

Politicians and statesmen gathered at 11 AM this morning at Westminster Abbey, where the state funeral for Queen Elizabeth was held. Around two thousand guests attended the Abbey. Britons followed the events from the Abbey via screens set up in parks and on the streets, and the broadcast was shown live in all cinemas in London.
