(Patria) - After 84 days of American sanctions, the Washington administration extended the operating license for the Oil Industry of Serbia (NIS) until January 23.
Serbian media report that this decision by the USA followed today's talks between Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić with OFAC and the State Department, as well as with Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán.
RTS unofficially learns that negotiations between Gazprom and Hungarian MOL on the purchase of the Russian majority stake in NIS could also be completed by then.
Vučić will announce more detailed information from the letter coming from Washington to the citizens tomorrow, and will also talk about the importance of the operating license for NIS and Serbia.
