(Patria) - The United States plans to take further strikes after three American soldiers were killed last weekend by Iran-backed militias, National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan said on Sunday, Reuters reports.
"We intend to take additional strikes and additional actions to continue to send a clear message that the United States will respond when our forces are attacked, when our people are killed," Sullivan told NBC.
The United States and the United Kingdom carried out strikes on 36 Houthi targets in Yemen on Saturday, the second day of major US operations against Iran-linked groups, following a deadly attack that killed three American soldiers in Jordan last weekend.
"What happened on Friday was the beginning, not the end of our response, and there will be more steps. Some will be seen, some may be unseen," Sullivan said.
