US offers $10 million for information on Hamas financing

(Patria) - The US is offering up to $10 million for information on five individuals financing Hamas or anything that would disrupt the financial mechanism of the Palestinian extremist group, the State Department announced yesterday.

The reward was offered after four rounds of US sanctions on Hamas following the group's deadly attack on Israel on October 7, which killed 1,200 people, according to Israeli data.

In Israel's military response to the attack, 22,600 people have been killed in Gaza, local health officials said, while much of the enclave has been destroyed.

The five for whom the reward is offered are Abdelbasit Hamza Elhasan Hair, Amer Kamal Sharif Alshawa, Ahmed Sadu Jaleb, Walid Muhammad Mustafa Jadallah, and Muhammad Ahmad Abd Al-Dajim Nasralah.

The State Department stated that America had previously designated them as global terrorists.

The first on the list - known as Hamza - lives in Sudan and manages numerous companies for Hamas, to which he has transferred nearly $20 million, US authorities said.

He is linked to Sudanese President Omar al-Bashir and Islamist groups undermining stability in Sudan, the State Department states.

Three other Hamas operatives - Amer Kamal Sharif Alshawa, Ahmed Sadu Jaleb, and Walid Muhammad Mustafa Jadallah - are part of the group's investment network in Turkey.

Nasralah is closely linked to Iranian entities and has been involved in transferring tens of millions of dollars to Hamas, including to the group's military wing, according to the State Department, which stated in October that Nasralah lives in Qatar.

America is offering a cash reward for information on any source of income for Hamas, major donors, financial institutions that mediate transactions for Hamas, companies that provide technology for the group, and criminal schemes from which Hamas profits, the State Department statement said.
