
(Patria) - Deputy Chairman of the Council of Ministers and Minister of Defense of BiH Zukan Helez received the US Military Attaché, Brigadier Erik R. Adams, for a visit today.
The participants of the meeting discussed the efforts that the MoD of BiH has invested in defense reform so far and what the next steps are, the current security situation in the world and the region, strengthening the activities of the Armed Forces of BiH in the area of recruitment, and numerous other topics.
Helez expressed satisfaction with this significant meeting, stating that Bosnia and Herzegovina is going through an important, perhaps even a pivotal period on the foreign policy as well as internal level.
Brigadier Adams praised the work of the Ministry of Defense of BiH, especially Minister Helez's efforts regarding the funds for the procurement of six American helicopters.
He also emphasized that the investment in the modernization of the AF BiH and the improvement of conditions for its members are very visible, and thanks to these efforts, our country can expect even more significant and concrete assistance from allies.
Adams reiterated that the USA firmly supports the sovereignty, territorial integrity, and multi-ethnic character of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and emphasized that they will not allow the destabilization and insecurity in our country to be undermined.
The interlocutors agreed that the cooperation between Bosnia and Herzegovina and the USA in the field of defense will be further intensified and continued through a series of significant projects in the field of training and education, joint exercises, assistance in securing equipment and other material-technical resources for the needs of modernization and further professionalization of the AF BiH.
