US adds DJI and other foreign drones to national security list

(Patria) - The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) announced on Monday that it is adding China's DJI and all foreign-made drones and components to the list of companies found to pose an unacceptable risk to US national security and will prohibit approvals for the import or sale of new types of drones in the United States, Reuters reported.

Being added to the FCC list means that DJI and other foreign drone companies will not be able to obtain FCC approval for the sale of new drone models in the United States in the future.

This designation does not prohibit the import, sale, or use of any existing models of devices previously approved by the FCC, nor does it affect previously purchased drones.

Chinese DJI drones are widely used in the Ukrainian war by both sides of the front line.
