While Milorad Dodik is acting with exceptional political success in both the United States and the Russian Federation, Bosniaks will continue to naively believe the claims of Denis Bećirović, Zlatko Lagumdžija, Elmedin Konaković, Edin Forto, Nermin Nikšić, Sabina Ćudić, Ram Isak, Zukan Helez, and other political amateurs and gamblers that he is fruitlessly visiting lower-ranking officials in the American administration and fruitlessly spending taxpayers' money.
If they possessed even a shred of political integrity and moral credibility, the aforementioned individuals, along with Christian Schmidt, would have to resign from the positions to which Schmidt himself imposed them with his decisions, or which he enabled them to hold through his actions.
If Bosniaks wish to preserve the state of BiH, they should present an invoice to the political amateurs and gamblers within their own ranks as early as tomorrow. If they do not do so, they themselves are agreeing to hand over their survival and the future of the state of BiH into the hands of political gamblers and political ignoramuses.
Current political events confirm that Bosniaks, despite everything they have experienced and survived, have not yet fully matured politically. The first proof of a nation's political maturity is its ability to timely recognize internal danger, i.e., an existential threat born within its own ranks. A nation that does not show the ability to decisively confront dangers within its own ranks has no chance of confronting external threats either.
The departure of Christian Schmidt, who has spent his mandate fulfilling the wishes of those who do not want BiH as a unified state, without the departure of those whom he imposed into power, and who paid for their appointments by agreeing to all his unconstitutional and anti-civilizational decisions, represents the final act of dismantling the state of BiH.
In a fundamental sense, Christian Schmidt's departure will not change anything; it will only accelerate the anti-state processes he initiated. Schmidt's departure is just a new phase in the dismantling of BiH. After his departure, those whom he imposed have "nowhere to turn back"; the only way for them to remain on the political scene is to even more energetically continue their work and serve anti-state policies. And their political godfathers, Dragan Čović and Milorad Dodik, certainly have new tasks ready.
The state of BiH is in the "final phase" of its turbulent existence; the only question is whether this phase will result in its definitive disappearance or rebirth. The answer to this dilemma depends most on the political self-awareness and maturity of Bosniaks. If they wish to survive, tomorrow might be their last chance to come to their senses.
