KS Budget of 1.2 Billion KM Adopted with 19 Votes

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - After a day-long debate by representatives mostly from the opposition (SDA, SBiH, DF), the KS Assembly adopted the Budget for 2022 in the amount of 1,220,787,840 KM.

All amendments proposed by the SBiH Club, the SDA Club, and several amendments proposed by some female representatives were rejected or did not receive the support of the representatives.

19 representatives voted for the KS Budget.  

The Proposal for the Law on the Execution of the KS Budget for 2022 was also adopted without debate. 

The Ministry of Internal Affairs of KS will have its record budget in the amount of 128.4 million KM. The largest funds are allocated for the procurement of equipment for the Police Administration, amounting to almost 23 million KM, and 17 million will be allocated for the procurement of a helicopter for the needs of the MUP KS.

The amount of 62.7 million KM is planned for the economic sector, which will finance projects of the companies ZOI 84, Skenderija, as well as incentives for small businesses and agriculture, property resolution in industrial zones, etc.

The largest funds in the finance sector relate to expenditures for debt servicing.

“This year, three-year and five-year bonds in the amount of 16.3 million are due, which is planned in the budget of this ministry,” explains Minister Čičić.

A significant increase is also visible in the budget of the Ministry of Labour, Social Policy, Displaced Persons and Refugees, which amounts to 118.2 million KM. 55.6 million KM is provided for the protection of families with children, 16.7 million KM for all forms of social protection, and 15.3 million KM for the protection of civilian war victims. The budget of this ministry also plans the payment of monthly allowances for mothers in childbirth in KS in the amount of the average salary in the Federation, which currently amounts to slightly less than 1,000 KM.

For communal economy, infrastructure, spatial planning, construction, and environmental protection, 65.8 million KM is planned, which will be increased with unspent funds from last year. The largest amount of money goes to communal consumption in the amount of 19.4 million KM, and 4.7 million KM will be directed towards the reconstruction of the water supply network.

Regarding the total number of employees receiving salaries from the KS Budget, this year it is planned to hire 199 new police officers in the Police Administration of the MUP KS, 71 employees in the Public Institution Children of Sarajevo, 22 employees in the Cantonal Administration of Civil Protection, 12 new employees in the Public Institution Institute for the Development of Pre-University Education, 12 new hires in the Institute for Planning, 16 in the MUP KS, 14 in cultural institutions, and 10 employees in the Cantonal Center for Social Work.
