Ryabkov: Russia's response to Kyiv's long-range weapon attacks will be brutal

(Patria) - The United States has given Kyiv permission to attack deep into Russian territory with long-range weapons, and Moscow's response will be brutal, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Ryabkov told reporters, TASS reported.

"The Russian President has said everything on this topic. The decision (to allow Kyiv to attack) is made, all carte blanche, indulgences have been issued to Kyiv's clients. Therefore, we will respond in a brutal manner.

There is an element of serious risk, because opponents in Washington, London, and elsewhere clearly underestimate the degree of danger of the game they continue to play," Ryabkov said.

Ryabkov told TASS on the sidelines of the BRICS media summit earlier that Russia knows the West has already made decisions about strikes deep into Russian territory and has conveyed corresponding signals to Kyiv.

Russian President Vladimir Putin previously stated that Ukraine is not capable of attacking deep into Russian territory without Western assistance, as it needs satellite and aerial mission intelligence for that. He said that NATO countries are not just discussing the possible use of Western long-range weapons by Kyiv, but are essentially deciding whether to directly engage in the Ukrainian conflict. He indicated that Moscow will make decisions based on the threats that emerge for Russia.
