Russian fighter jet 'Su-75 Checkmate' to soon begin laboratory testing

(Patria) - The Su-75 Checkmate fighter jet will soon begin laboratory testing, said the General Director of the state corporation Rostec Sergey Chemezov, on the sidelines of Dubai Airshow 2025, TASS reported.

"The development of a new aircraft takes a significant amount of time, on average ten to fifteen years. Very little time has passed so far. Aircraft are not born that quickly, children can be born in nine months. Ours is practically already in the flight phase," he said, clarifying that it will soon move on to laboratory testing.

Chemezov added that Rostec continues to work on the aircraft, believing that it "will be in demand."

"It is cheaper, single-engine, and I think its armament will be sufficient to handle everything that is needed, both for destroying air and ground targets. In terms of efficiency, price, and quality, I think it will be quite good."
