(Patria) - Russian services are behind the powerful cyber attack on August 26 on the entire information structure of the Government of Montenegro, Radio Free Europe has confirmed from the National Security Agency (ANB).
The Agency claims that this is an attack that was prepared over a longer period of time, and that such an attack has not been recorded so far.
"Critical state infrastructure was attacked," they said unofficially from the ANB for RSE.
The latest cyber attack on the Government's infrastructure occurred early this morning, and government services have not yet announced the extent of the damage.
Due to the latest cyber attack, a session of the national Information Security Council has been scheduled.
Minister of Public Administration Maraš Dukaj was the first to speak this morning on his Twitter account, stating that Montenegro is exposed to a new series of organized cyber attacks on the government's IT infrastructure.
"The primary target is the structure of state bodies," Dukaj said, adding that "allies have been informed" about the attacks.
The Ministry of Interior and the Prosecutor's Office are involved in the investigation of the previous attacks on the IT infrastructure of the Government of Montenegro.
