It has been definitively confirmed that the so-called clearing debt of the Russian Federation towards Bosnia and Herzegovina in the amount of 125.2 million dollars will be paid in cash.
Alleged doubts about such an outcome, which have been circulating in the corridors these days, had no real basis. Patria is in possession of correspondence according to which, at the beginning of March, there were some attempts from the Ministry of Finance of the Russian Federation to settle the debt in an inadequate way, in cash for Republika Srpska, and in goods for the Federation. There were interpretations that the Russian Federation wants to accommodate Milorad Dodik due to the lack of fresh money in the RS accounts.
After all, the law was still followed, so the Russian Federation decided to pay the entire sum in cash into the budgets of the entities, specifically that Republika Srpska will receive 33 percent of the funds and the Federation 67 percent. This, converted into convertible marks, amounts to 72 million KM for RS and 143 million KM for the Federation.
All of this was also confirmed by the Government of RS through a letter from Prime Minister Željka Cvijanović to Minister of Finance Zoran Tegeltija, who gave their consent to initiate the procedure for paying these funds into the entity budgets.
