Russia suffers heavy losses in Ukraine, over a thousand soldiers taken out of action daily

(Patria) - Russia is facing a high casualty rate in the war against Ukraine amid ongoing offensives along a broad front between Kharkiv in the northeast and Robotyne in the south.

According to an assessment published today by analysts from the British Ministry of Defence, more than a thousand Russian soldiers are likely to be killed or wounded on average each day in August.

In the northeastern Ukrainian region of Kharkiv, Russian forces have reportedly consolidated their positions, and Russian losses have slightly decreased.

While an average of 1,262 Russian soldiers were killed or wounded each day in May, a record high, the figure dropped to 1,140 in July, the ministry stated on X.

Nevertheless, the last three months have been the worst in terms of losses since the start of the war, the British Ministry of Defence stated, citing information from the Ukrainian General Staff.

The figures cannot be independently verified.

"Effective Ukrainian defence and a lack of Russian training are reducing Russia's ability to turn any tactical successes into broader operational gains," the ministry added.
