
(Patria) - Russia announced that it intercepted two missiles targeting the Crimean peninsula and the southern Rostov region with its air defense systems, agencies reported.
Crimean Governor Sergei Aksyonov confirmed the missile attack on Telegram, reporting that a cruise missile was shot down near the Kerch Bridge connecting the peninsula to Russia. He said the interception of the missile caused no damage or casualties, without providing further details on the type or origin of the missile.
Meanwhile, local officials announced that traffic on the Crimean Bridge
has been restored after being temporarily suspended due to the attack.
In the nearby Russian region of Rostov, authorities also reported the downing of a missile, with the region's governor
Vasily Golubev writing on Telegram that the missile was Ukrainian.
"There were no casualties. The missile debris partially damaged the roofs of several buildings," Golubev added.
