(Patria) - Russia will consider the issues of constructing access roads to the state border with Kazakhstan, Mongolia, China and North Korea, said President Vladimir Putin, TASS reported.
"We will continue to proactively develop the eastern route. It needs to be extended to Tyumen and connected to the upgraded main road network of Siberia and the Far East. That's exactly what I was thinking, that it would be more than just launching this section," Putin said at the opening ceremony of the eastern section of the M-12 highway via videoconference.
"The issues of constructing access highways to the state border with
Kazakhstan, Mongolia, China and the Democratic People's Republic of Korea will certainly be considered. This will significantly increase our transit capabilities," he added.
"The route will be included in the international transport architecture, becoming an important, competitive, and logistical artery," Putin said.
