Russia responded to the first criticisms of the vaccine

(Patria) – Russian Health Minister Mikhail Murashko stated on Wednesday that criticisms that the Russian vaccine against Covid-19 is unsafe are unfounded and stem from a sense of competition, the Russian news agency Interfax reported.

As a reminder, President Vladimir Putin announced on Tuesday that Russia had become the first country to approve a vaccine against the Covid-19 virus, after just under two months of human testing, and that one of his daughters had been successfully vaccinated.

Moscow's decision to approve the vaccine has raised concerns among some groups of experts because only 10% of clinical trials have shown success, and some scientists believe that Russia has prioritized national prestige over safety, Reuters reports.
