Russia deploys 100,000 soldiers to the border with Ukraine.

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said that there are almost 100,000 Russian soldiers near the Ukrainian border and that Western countries have shared information about the active deployment of the Russian army with Kyiv.

- I hope the world can now clearly see who truly wants peace and who is amassing 100,000 soldiers on our border, he said in a video address from this week, broadcast on his website.

The movements of the Russian army near the border with Ukraine have raised fears of a possible attack. Moscow has dismissed such speculation as an attempt to incite tensions and has complained about the increasing activity of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization, NATO, in the region.

On November 3, the Ukrainian Minister of Defense estimated that there were 90,000 Russian soldiers near the Ukrainian border.

Ukraine has been fighting Russian-backed separatists in the eastern Donbas region, a conflict that Kyiv says has killed more than 14,000 people since 2014.

A peace plan to resolve the conflict, agreed upon in 2015, is on ice, and Moscow regularly accuses Kyiv of sabotaging its implementation.
