(Patria) - Russia has conducted a prisoner exchange with Ukraine, finalized during a phone call between US and Russian Presidents Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin.
The Russian Ministry of Defense announced yesterday that 175 Ukrainian soldiers were exchanged for 175 Russian soldiers.
Moscow additionally handed over 22 severely wounded Ukrainian prisoners requiring urgent medical attention, which it described as a gesture of goodwill.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy shared several photos on the platform X, describing the exchange as one of the largest of its kind.
He also added that among the mentioned 22 Ukrainians were severely wounded warriors and those whom Russia had persecuted for fabricated crimes.

The United Arab Emirates mediated the deal, the Ministry of Defense stated.
The Russian soldiers released by the agreement are in Belarus awaiting transit to Russia.
