Russia: Blinken's visit to China was intended to break Russian-Chinese ties

The current visit of US Secretary of State Antony Blinken to China is intended to disrupt Russian-Chinese ties, said Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Ryabkov.

"Washington is looking for ways to break Russian-Chinese ties as much as possible. We have recently significantly expanded cooperation with Beijing in many areas. This fills American politicians and high-ranking officials of the Biden administration with bile," Ryabkov said, TASS reported.

"The Secretary of State's visit should be assessed from the perspective of what the United States is prepared to do to increase overt and ruthless pressure on China," he said. "I think Beijing understands this perfectly and will not even pretend to be ready to reach any agreements with the Americans at the expense of Russia's interests," he added.

According to the high-ranking Russian diplomat, the United States does not hesitate to "use unfair methods, up to open blackmail and intimidation, even against a power like China."
