Russians fiercely bomb Kharkiv, Turkey will not join sanctions against Russia

(Patria) - It is the sixth day of Russian aggression against Ukraine, and as the night progresses, attacks on Kharkiv and settlements in Kyiv are intensifying. 

A new military attack in Kharkiv, Ukraine, hit a residential area near a hospital, according to video footage geolocated and confirmed by CNN.

The explosion near the hospital occurred several hours after a military attack caused significant damage to the regional administration building in Kharkiv.

Russia is bombing Kyiv districts, the city of Vyshneve outside the capital, according to the State Service for Special Communications of Ukraine, reports Kyiv Independent. The attacked districts are Rusanivka, Kurenivka, Boiarka, and the area near Kyiv International Airport or Zhuliany.

A loud explosion was also heard in Bila Tserkva, a city in the Kyiv region, where a fuel depot was hit, reported the UNIAN news agency.

At the same time, news coming from Turkey has surprised the world. The spokesperson for the Turkish President stated today that Turkey does not intend to join Western countries in imposing sanctions on Russia. 

Kalin stated that Turkey will always act based on the country's priorities. 

"Who will talk to Russia if all bridges are burned?"

"There should be a party capable of negotiating with Russia. We do not plan to impose sanctions in order to keep the communication channel open," said Kalin. 

He added that Ankara does not intend to take measures that would harm Turkey itself. 

"We maintain close relations with Russia in sectors such as tourism, natural gas supply, and agriculture," says Kalin. 

Regarding the closure of the sea for Russian warships, Kalin points out that the Montreux Convention, which allows Turkey to block the Bosphorus and Dardanelles to foreign warships, has played a key role in maintaining peace and stability in the Black Sea. 

"We interpret the convention in a way that allows us to prevent war tensions. We are also in consultations with all parties and have informed them about this. So far, we have not received any request for warships to pass through the Black Sea," says Kalin. 

The International Court of Justice will hold hearings on the Russian war in Ukraine. Public hearings on allegations of genocide against Russia will be held from March 7 to 8. They will be broadcast live, reports The Kyiv Independent.
