The iron ore mine "Ljubija" holds a 49 percent stake in "Arcelor Mittal" from Prijedor, while the majority 51 percent stake is held by "ArcelorMittal", writes Capital.ba, reports Patria.
- The company "ArcelorMittal" once made a poor offer, both financially and in terms of investment, compared to the offer from an Israeli company. We have now accepted the offer from the Israeli company and are waiting for that partner to definitively state whether they stand by everything they have stated - said the Minister of Industry, Energy and Mining of RS, Petar Đokić.
He added that after the Israelis definitively confirm their offer, it will be considered once again by the Government, and then sent to the National Assembly of RS for adoption.
The Government of RS made a decision back in 2014 to sell the state's stake in the "Ljubija" Mine to "Israeli Investment Group- Overseas Inc", but it was withdrawn from the National Assembly of RS after the president of DNS, Marko Pavić, opposed it, although the Government's official explanation for withdrawing the decision was that it needed to be refined. The media reported at the time that the Israelis had offered 36.5 million KM for the "Ljubija" Mine.
