SARAJEVO, (Patria) - Miners of Stara Jama Rudnik mrkog uglja Zenica have stopped production because their salaries have not been paid in full for two consecutive months, and it has been announced that their colleagues from the Raspotočje mine will join them today.

The mine management deducted loan installments from the miners' salaries, and the money was not immediately paid to the banks. Therefore, when the salaries were paid into the accounts, the banks deducted the amount of the loan installments.

Because the loan installments were effectively deducted twice from their salaries, the miners did not enter the mine yesterday afternoon, and those from the first shift also refused to do so, local media reported.

For now, there is no information from the management on when this problem will be resolved.
