Rubio: We are preparing a plan to send international forces to Gaza

(Patria) - US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said that US officials are holding consultations on a possible UN resolution or international agreement that would allow the deployment of international forces to the Gaza Strip and that they will discuss this in Qatar today.

- Many countries have expressed interest in participating at some level - either monetarily or with personnel or both - and they will need that (UN resolution or international agreement) because their national laws require it.

We have a whole team working on a draft of that - Rubio told reporters on a plane en route between Israel and Qatar.

The administration of US President Donald Trump wants Arab countries to contribute financially and with personnel to multinational forces that will maintain peace in the Gaza Strip.

Israel opposes the participation of Turkish forces.
